Project Overview

As part of Stack Infrastructure's MEL01 campus in Melbourne, the MEL01C and MEL01D projects expand this hyperscale data center campus to a planned total capacity of 180 MW. Each of the new facilities is designed for 54 MW IT load, augmenting the two existing 36 MW buildings (MEL01A and B) on the 9-acre site in Truganina.

The campus includes a dedicated 66 kV substation and over 38,000 m² of technical space, making it one of the largest data center hubs in Australia.

My Role

As Senior Project Planner for the MEL01C & D projects, I oversee the master schedule integration of both new facilities. This involves:

  • Coordinating structural works, long-lead equipment deliveries, and commissioning activities in parallel
  • Aligning construction of on-site substations with high-density data hall fit-out
  • Managing the operational cadence of the live campus during construction
  • Implementing robust scheduling and risk mitigation plans

Challenges & Solutions

A key challenge has been aligning the construction of on-site substations and fit-out of high-density data halls with the operational cadence of the live campus. By implementing robust scheduling and risk mitigation plans, I ensure that potential delays (supply chain disruptions or design changes) are anticipated and buffered.

I practice proactive stakeholder engagement—regularly negotiating timeline adjustments with contractors and the client to accommodate design modifications without impacting end delivery. This calm, evidence-based approach to planning has kept the MEL01C & D projects on track.
